BCIT has installed two new sleep pods in their Burnaby campus library. This installation parallels their earlier establishment of a nap room located in one of the institute’s gyms. The intention of both these innovations is to support student learning and well-being.
“We often see students sleeping in the library,” said James Rout, the library director. “We’ve also had some research … that shows a clear need for students to have a safe and secure place to rest.”
This enhancement of wellness facilities demonstrates BCIT’s larger commitment to promoting student mental health.
