Evaluation 101 Toolkit: Learning how to conduct evaluation of programs and services

Posted on August 24th, 2018

The Centre for Innovation in Campus Mental Health (CICMH) has created a new toolkit to help build the capacity of frontline staff at colleges and universities to effectively evaluate the impacts of their mental health and addictions services and initiatives.

In this comprehensive toolkit you will learn:

What is evaluation?

  • Evaluation is a key way to learn about what works and what doesn’t with the programs and services you provide. It is also a key way for you to share the story of the work you do with your stakeholders.

Planning your evaluation

  • Learn about assessing your readiness to conduct evaluation, how to engage your stakeholders, and how to develop an effective evaluation plan that meets your needs.

Conducting your evaluation

  • With a strong foundational understanding of evaluation and a solid evaluation plan in place you are now ready for the ‘doing’ portion of your evaluation.

Sharing and learning

  • Sharing the knowledge gained from your evaluation is an important step in telling your stakeholders your story, supporting others to learn from your work.
