Health Canada is currently planning a national online survey of university and college students to gather more information on their alcohol and drug use, and are very interested in learning from your experience administering the National College Health Assessment (NCHA) Survey to help develop the methodology for the Canadian Postsecondary Alcohol and Drug Use Survey.
Please submit your responses to the following questions to Anna-Maria Frescura at an[email protected]:
1. What process did you use to select a sample of students to participate in the NCHA? (i.e., was the sample randomly selected or was another method used?)
2. What information did you use to determine the number of students or sample size that would participate in the NCHA? (e.g., budget consideration, representativeness, etc.)?
3. We are proposing to conduct our survey in different years from when the NCHA is planned so as not to over-survey students. If the pilot study were to occur March 2018 and a full national survey during the 2019-2020 school year, would this interfere with NCHA implementation?
Thank you for your feedback and for your contribution to Health Canada’s study! If you would like more information, please do not hesitate to contact Anna-Maria.
