A student from the University of Waterloo may be the first student in Canada to receive coverage under his student health plan for his medical marijuana.
“…After a four-month claim process, as of December 2014 Zaid’s medicinal marijuana is being covered under his Feds student health plan, potentially making him the first student in Canada to receive coverage under the new system — the Marijuana for Medical Purposes Regulations (MMPR)… Zaid — who founded Canadians for Fair Access to Medical Marijuana (CFAMM), an organization that lobbies for patients who can use medicinal marijuana to treat their conditions — said this claim wasn’t only to benefit himself, but to help all other patients and students just like him.”
