HM|HC Info Session: National Standard For Mental Health And Well-Being For Post-Secondary Students

Posted on October 30th, 2020

HM|HC Info Sessions are a new resource available for our community of practice. These Info Sessions introduce mental health and substance use-related items, such as research findings, surveys, new services and other resources that may be of interest to our CoP.

For this information session, the topic of conversation is the National Standard of Canada for Mental Health and Well-Being for Post-Secondary Students — the first of its kind in the world. The Mental Health Commission of Canada (MHCC), in collaboration with CSA Group, has championed the development of this standard. This standard is a set of flexible, voluntary guidelines to help post-secondary institutions support the mental health and well-being of their students.

Through this session you will:

  • Learn about the new Standard, and gain an understanding of its development, aims, and benefits.
  • Understand what resources are currently available to support post-secondary institutions in applying the Standard’s guidance
  • Explore the Starter Kit and the tools and resources included in it
