About HM|HC Info Sessions

HM|HC Info Sessions are a new resource available for our community of practice. These Info Sessions introduce mental health and substance use-related items, such as research findings, surveys, new services and other resources that may be of interest to our CoP.

Upcoming Info Sessions

Campus Suicide Prevention Info Session

Date: Thursday, December 10 @ 11:30am-1:30pm PST

This Info Session will be held to assist applicants in learning more about best practices in suicide prevention and how to apply them in a campus context. Our expert panel will be available for the first hour to answer any questions from the audience as it relates to suicide prevention and their respective expertise.

During the second hour of the Info Session, the HM|HC Support Team will be available to provide any technical assistance regarding the application. There will also be an opportunity for participants to learn and work collaboratively with one another in small breakout groups.

Past Info Sessions

National Standard For Mental Health And Well-Being For Post-Secondary Students Info Session

For this information session, the topic of conversation is the National Standard of Canada for Mental Health and Well-Being for Post-Secondary Students — the first of its kind in the world. The Mental Health Commission of Canada (MHCC), in collaboration with CSA Group, has championed the development of this standard. This standard is a set of flexible, voluntary guidelines to help post-secondary institutions support the mental health and well-being of their students.

Here2Talk Info Session

For this information session, the topic of conversation is Here2Talk, a free and confidential program that provides all students currently registered with a B.C. post-secondary school access to single-session 24/7 mental health support and community referral services via app, phone and web.
